ESG's Practices
Notice
Our products are designed to give the user more control of what is in their machine. There are three ways that we disclose to the user what is happening when they use our software. Firstly, our website explains what our software does. Secondly, the end user license agreement provides more detailed information about our software. Finally, the User Interface walks our users through the process.
Installation
In order to install our product, the user must first decide to download our product. We do not offer our software in stores, so all downloads occur over the Internet. In order to give our users the maximum level of control, we are currently only offering our products as separate downloads and installations.
Users may come to our site and download one or more of our free products with no strings attached. Any user who purchases a license to SpyHunter will be granted access to a member section where they may download SpyHunter and receive full support. Downloads of our products are available on our website.
Updates
We offer program and definition updates on SpyHunter through the user interface. There are two update buttons. One button updates the definitions and the other updates the software. In the future we plan on offering our users the ability to make updates through an interface similar to updates from the leading anti-virus software companies.
Support
We believe that spyware has become one of the most critical security issues facing the Internet community. Accordingly, we have developed a product called SpyHunter which a consumer can use to scan his or her computer for spyware and adware. There are two versions of the product - our free version, which performs a scan and reports the incidence of spyware to the user, and our
paid version, which both scans for spyware and gives the consumer the choice to remove it. The paid version is fully-supported.
If SpyHunter does not remove the problem, the customer can communicate with us and we respond by opening a customer ticket. If the problem is not first resolved through our ticketing system, we communicate with the customer by telephone. This process enables us to conduct a "virtual conference" with the user’s computer in which our techical support department can search for and remove security threats. We offer a full refund to any Enigma customer whose problem is not fully resolved.
Uninstall
We provide our users two ways to uninstall our software products and to completely disable all functionality.
- Click on the Windows "Start" button. Move your mouse over to the "All Programs" option. Find the program that you wish to uninstall. Move your mouse to that program and a submenu will open up. One of the options on the submenu will be uninstall. Click on the uninstall button and follow instructions from there.
- You may also remove our program through the windows control panel by following the steps below:
- From your computer's Start button, select "Settings", then select "Control Panel".
- Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
- Select which product you would like to Uninstall and click "Remove".
Our specific practices
We designed SpyHunter and our other software products to operate in a way that is fully consistent with our Statement of Principles set forth above. In addition to providing full information on what our products do, and giving the user full control over their use, we strictly avoid any practices that meet our definition of spyware or adware. Accordingly, we do not:
- Engage in hijacking;
- Engage in the unauthorized modification of settings;
- Engage in surveillance of user’s web surfing habits and other content;
- Engage in snooping.
